Computer Education and Instructional Technologies The Computer Education and Instructional Technologies Program aims to develop, disseminate and teach the methods and techniques necessary for the functional use of computers and other instructional technology products needed in educational institutions as well as training its students in accordance with the requirements of the teaching profession. Within the program, which has gained more importance with the development of multimedia and web technologies, courses are given on the effective use of new information and communication technologies in educational environments besides mathematics and science courses. The graduates of the program have employment opportunities in a variety of fields. While most of the graduates work as computer teachers or instructional technologists in secondary schools, they can also be employed in other fields such as web design, production of instructional materials, instructional technologies expertise, and information and communication technologies courses. The program currently has active students but no quota is given for new admissions at the moment. Computer Education and Instructional Technologies department started accepting students in 2001-2002. It was after the credit of World Bank to restructure education faculties. In 2002-2003 evening classes started and until 2009 total 150 students were accepted each year to the department. When our department accepted blended learning students for the first time in 2009-2010 it was also the first time ever for a computer education and instructional technologies department offering blended learning in Turkey.
